Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is SARJ?

A place outside Cairo where people and teams work with horses on foot, on the ground. SARJ also offers training and consulting for organisations.

Is there horse riding?

No. All the work is on the ground, without words. Riding is only part of the young people's programme, where it fits.

Is this therapy?

No. SARJ is learning and coaching guided by horses. It can sit well alongside therapy, and it is never a replacement for medical or psychological care.

How will I feel afterwards?

People describe it differently, and many find it hard to describe at all. Some feel lighter at once. For others the change shows weeks or months later. Both are part of the work.

Do I need experience with horses?

No experience is needed.

Who can come?

Adults come to the themed days. Families, couples and groups come to private experiences. Young people have their own programme. Each group has its own days, so each one gets the attention it needs.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes for being outdoors, and closed shoes, which you need for safety.

What do I bring?

An open mind and a notebook. We provide everything else.

Can I give a session as a gift?

Yes, as long as the person knows about it and chooses to come.

How many people do we need for our own group?

At least six people.

Where is the barn?

In Orabi Agricultural City, outside Cairo. Your confirmation includes the location pin and directions.

How do I pay?

Online at checkout, by card or the other payment methods shown there. Organisations can also pay by bank transfer.

What if my plans change?
